The Sales Corner is not the authority on Sales or Marketing; but we certainly have some authority that we offer your business! We want you to recognize that, we want you to learn that. We are a helpful resource, and we also empower some the industries “authorities” to help them grow their business, bigger, better, and beyond their competition!
Truth is, EVERYONE wants to be “the authority” or “the source” when it comes to their business or their idea, or their project, or their product, or their favorite customer. The Sales Corner wants to have authority of our business, to help yours, and we take steps to do that! We help you learn, teach you, and make valuable suggestions and provide resources that open the door in new ways for you to accomplishing your needs. If you don’t believe us, talk to those that know the people behind the logo. After all, a referral is a great business tool, and a great reference can be even more powerful! Knowing who’s on the other side solidifies a relationship and set’s an impression, good or bad.
You, the people, have the means to make a difference in your organization. Making the right difference inside your company, on your team, or in front of a customer will lead you down life changing paths that will help you win more, sell more, and make more money on the long road.
Don’t worry because this article is not ridden with a product, or a “magic key” to win more sales, and we won’t even ask you for any money. Our competitors will be mad at us for not trying to take your dollar for the information that they sell you. We don’t need to; because we will be the ones you come back to when you think of a resource you need, or a business idea you have! And you’ll return, because you feel comfortable, not because you bought our $20 dollar product and have questions about it.
Everyone needs to stop the winning. I hear contractors whine about not making enough money. I hear sales people whine about why they didn’t win that big fish, or land that 100K deal. I hear sales managers whine that they can’t improve their working team. I hear presidents whine that they don’t have enough time to grow their sales organizations. I hear Internet Marketeers whine that they can’t compile a list of 500K names and their competiton is winning…. we hear a lot. Our answer for all of you is “STOP WHINING.”
When you stop whining about not winning a competitor, a customer, a sale, or a business problem, and you start to take action to fix it and resolve the problem, it becomes lessened with time, and hopefully will be a non-issue as time takes it’s toll. The winning comes in all kinds of ways. Each one of them is recognized and perceived by your prospect. How do you think that makes you look in their eyes?
There are entirely to many “sales professionals” that will go around working their but off exercising some of the best techniques to try and win sales with a great book, or a new tool in some new article; but at the end of their day, they go to happy hour, and they sit with their “sales buddies” and talk about what they lost, or a problem they have at work in their sales process, or a customer that was rude!
“When we go to happy hour, we talk about what we did to close a sale, win a customer, capture a payment, or an experience that helped us win a relationship.”
Do you see the difference here?
Think about being positive and winning (not whining) in a way that you bring a kind of focus today when you talk on the phone, or visit a customer site. Think about how you’ll act under pressure, how you’ll give that presentation, how you’ll talk about yourself, or your product.
